Where We Stand...
We align ourselves with the views of the Democratic party. What does that mean?
Abortion
- Women have the right choose and the state has no place in deciding what happens with their bodies.
- Abortion should be equally accesible to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
- We should pursue and invest in embryonic stem cell research.
Budget and Economic Issues
- The economy must be restored to a thriving status, but not at the stake of cutting programs that help Americans.
Civil Rights
- Employment should be non-discriminatory, and measures should be taken to ensure this (affirmative action.)
- President Obama passed legislation in 2009 making hate crimes based on sexual orientation a federal offense.
- Gay marriage should be legalized on the state level, and a federal ban on same sex marital unions is unconstitutional.
Big Business
- The interest of corporations should not be put before the interest of individual Americans, when it comes to taxes and 'welfare'.
- Better transparency in accounting must come into place for corporations.
- Tax credits should be granted to small businesses.
Education
- Education is a top priority of President Obama, including making college affordable and tax deductible.
- No Child Left Behind must be reformed.
Environment/Energy
- Energy independence must be achieved in order to decrease reliance on Middle East Oil.
- Tax credits to businesses and companies using clean energy sources and green technologies.
- Cost-effective methods are not always environmentally friendly in the long run.
Healthcare
- All Americans have a right to affordable healthcare.
- The Affordable Health Care Act ensures that insurance providers will accomodate all individuals regardless of preexisting conditions or expensive medical problems. It also allows young adult Americans to stay on their parents' healthcare until they are 26.

Jobs
- Congress needs to do more to create a jobs bill, and stop rejecting the President's proposals.
- Provide American companies with tax incentives to keep manufacturing jobs in the United States.
- Workers have a right to unionize.
Welfare and Income Equality
- Social safety nets are vital to ensure that the economy does not get worse.
- Income equality is skewed, and wealthy Americans should not be given more generous tax breaks than middle class and lower income Americans.
